Job Description:

The meat prepper is responsible for opening and processing orders and setting up for meat Cutters and or meat packers

Job Description

  • Clean, trim, slice, section and weigh eats
  • Cut and trim meat to prepare for packing
  • Inspect meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and remove them along with any excess fat
  • Distribute specified meat
  • Separate meats and byproducts into specified containers and seal containers
  • Use knives, cleavers, meat saws, bandsaws, or other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming
  • Accurately cut to trim and yield specs by cut tickets
  • Notify supervisor of any discrepancies between cutting tickets and normal customer purchases.
  • Maintain work areas in compliance with USDA guidelines
  • Assemble and tear down any equipment in your work area and the beginning and ending of the shift
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Organized and maintain a clean work space
  • Standing, stooping and climbing are regular activities for the employee

Education Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent;


  • Must be willing to take background check
  • Must provide references that are verifiable
  • Must have a minimum of two (1) year experience in this field
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to add, subtract and perform basic math
  • Commitment to work until job is completed
  • Interacts well with others. Good team player
  • Results-oriented
