Temporary Employee Safety: Who’s Responsible?

At KB Staffing, we take the health and well-being of our temporary employees very seriously. It is our job to ensure that our temporary and temporary-to-permanent employees receive safe and hazard-free temporary employment opportunities.

And we’re not the only ones who shoulder that responsibility. According to the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, both temporary staffing agencies and temporary employers are responsible for the health and safety of their temporary workers. We fully support this, because it means temporary employees are being protected and offered great job opportunities.

Here are just some of the things KB Staffing does to make sure our temporary employees are safe:

  1. We’re aware of every detail about the job and the workplace. We learn all of the ins and outs of our temporary staffing opportunities, so that we know exactly what temporary employees need before going into any particular job. We would never send a temporary employee into a working condition that was hazardous or unsafe, and we would never require them to take a job without having the proper training.
  2. We stay in constant contact with our temporary employers to ensure that the employee’s safety is being considered on both ends, from KB Staffing and from our clients. We work together with our temporary employers to make sure the proper protections are in place.
  3. We continually verify that our temporary employers are following the specified requirements, and we keep in contact with our temporary employees so that we understand their work conditions.

This is by no means a complete list, but it does scratch the surface of how KB Staffing works to protect our temporary employees and clients. In our next blog, we’ll discuss the ways in which temporary employers are responsible for the safety and well-being of their temporary employees.
