Interviewing for a Warehouse Position

KB Staffing gives you tips on how to have a great interview and help land your next job with a Central Florida warehouse employer.

At KB Staffing, we fill a lot of positions for warehouse workers. We take a lot of pride in filling these positions with the best possible candidates, so we want our candidates to go into their interviews well prepared. While landing a warehouse job in Central Florida might seem like a piece of cake, it isn’t always as easy as you imagine. Here are a few tips for making a good impression at the interview, to help ensure that you get the job you are after.

  1. Dress for success. Sure, you’ll probably be wearing work boots and jeans on the job, but that doesn’t mean that’s the right ensemble for your interview. The person interviewing you will most likely be wearing a “business casual” style outfit, so you’ll need to dress at least as nicely as them. That doesn’t mean you need to spring for a full three-piece suit, but you should probably invest in a nice pair of slacks and a button-up shirt. This goes for women, too. The name of the game is “classy, not fancy.”
  2. Practice interview questions. It can feel kind of silly sitting down with your family to answer practice questions, but the experience will do you good. Think about what kind of questions an interviewer might ask, and prepare your responses accordingly. Some examples are, “Why do you want to work here?” “Tell me about a mistake you once made and how you corrected it,” and “How does your experience fit with this job?”
  3. Bring copies of your important paperwork. Be prepared with copies of your resume, application, and any certifications you hold. Make sure you have your driver’s license with you, and any relevant operator’s cards. Your interviewer may not have time to print these things out beforehand, so you having a copy will make the process a little smoother.
