This Memorial Day We Show Our Gratitude

KB Staffing honors the memory of those who sacrificed everything in service to our country.

This Memorial Day, KB Staffing would like to extend hearty thanks to the brave men and women who have defended our nation over the years. Many soldiers have given their lives to protect our freedoms and lifestyle in America, and they deserve our deepest gratitude.

The exact origins of Memorial Day are unclear, but decorating the graves of soldiers has been a custom since before the Civil War. Some cite the 1863 dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as the first Memorial Day, though Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, promotes itself as the birthplace of Memorial Day for its decoration of soldiers’ graves on July 4, 1864. By 1865 these types of commemorations were widespread. A century later, in 1967, the day was officially christened Memorial Day, and the following year a standard day of observance was set.
