We at KB Staffing seek the positive in life, and to that end we support the philanthropic efforts of our staff members. Recently, our own team leader, Kelly Braaten, owner of KB Staffing, was honored with an award for “Philanthropist of the Year” by the Polk County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. This prestigious award recognizes the contributions of local business people to charitable organizations. We are so proud of Kelly for achieving this award for her tireless support of entities such as KidsPACK and Toys for Tots.
Food insecurity is an everyday tragedy for far too many children, but KidsPACK aims to change that one backpack at a time. There are many children living in situations in which the only meals they get are those that come from school. Donations of ready-to-eat food and snacks are collected and then distributed to needy children via backpack each Friday. This helps to bridge the gap over the weekend when children may not have access to food. Toys for Tots is another program that helps needy children. This program, operated by the U.S. Marines, helps to ensure that children in low-income families still receive something for Christmas. Donations of new, unwrapped toys are accepted October through December, and then distributed within the communities in which they are collected.
