Setting the Tone for a Great Day

How you start your morning can have a lasting effect on the rest of your day.

The way you start your morning can set the tone for the whole rest of the day. It’s important that you get going in a manner that will lead to a productive, peaceful, and positive day. Rolling out of bed grudgingly, hating the sunlight peeking through the blinds, and starting the day with complaints can instill a sour mood that never quite dissipates. At KB Staffing, we want you to have a good day at work or play, so we have some suggestions for setting off on the right foot each morning.

Start the Day the Right Way
At KB Staffing, we understand that not everyone is a “morning person.” That doesn’t mean that you can’t start the day on a positive note! Try a few of these ideas for setting a pleasant tone for the day.

  • Plan ahead. Instead of scrambling to pack a lunch, or eating out every day, prepare something the night before to make your day run smoother.
  • Skip the snooze. Hitting snooze doesn’t make it any easier to get up. Try going to bed a little earlier and setting the alarm for a little later if you feel like you aren’t getting enough sleep.
  • Light up. If you wake before dawn, turn on a bright light to help your body wake up.
  • Protein instead of caffeine. Don’t skip breakfast in favor of coffee! Your body would rather have a healthy dose of protein to draw fuel from than just a stimulant. A big glass of water can also be beneficial.
  • Stretch it out. Get your day started right with a quick workout or yoga routine. This will boost your metabolic rate and help focus you for the day ahead.
  • Meditate on it. A few minutes of quiet meditation or positive affirmation can really improve your mood.
